Proposition 1B (Transportation Bond) Local Street and Road Improvement Funds – Direct Allocation
As a result of the passage of Proposition 1B (Transportation Bond) in November 2006, there is $2 Billion available through the Local Street and Road Improvement Funds to be allocated directly to Cities ($1 Billion) and Counties ($1 Billion) in the State. The recently passed State Budget included a total of $950 million appropriation from the $2 Billion that was included in the transportation bond. Counties will recieve $400 million and Cities will receive $550 million for FY 2007-08. The rest of the $2 billion will be included in future year budgets.
