VALLEY TAKES CHARGE! PLUG-IN ELECTRIC VEHICLE TEST DRIVE AND PRESENTATION
Valley Takes Charge! is a program promoting plug-in electric vehicles (PEVs) in the San Joaquin Valley that empowers local governments and their constituents to adopt greater numbers of clean cars and help reduce transportation emissions.
The San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District, with the assistance of the Center for Sustainable Energy, launched Valley Takes Charge! to implement best practices for PEV adoption. It calls for innovative strategies to make PEVs and vehicle charging affordable and accessible for the majority of Valley residents, including people living in disadvantaged communities.
Valley Takes Charge! supports local governments by providing specialized training and toolkits to help cities and counties become PEV ready, training for local electricians on charging station equipment installation and raising awareness of cleaner vehicles and knowledge of their benefits among car buyers, government officials and vehicle fleet decision-makers.
Join us from 4:00-5:00pm for a plug-in electric vehicle test-drive at the Fresno COG office. A presentation from the Center for Sustainable Energy will be held from 5:00-5:15pm to discuss the Valley Takes Charge! program and some electric vehicle resources for local governments. Signage from the Fresno COG entrance on Tulare Street will direct you to the location of the test drive.
